In September 2022, Taryn and ISOW alumna Lubna Rahal traveled to Rome, Italy to attend the Initiatives in Refugee and Migrant Education Conference put on by the Refugee and Migrant Education group. Taryn, Lubna, and Sarah Shedeed from Jusoor attended together to present a session on how the ISOW-Jusoor partnership works together to support conflict-affected Syrian women in achieving higher education at Wilfrid Laurier University. In addition to presenting about our joint initiative, they were able to explore other unique initiatives taking place across the globe, share best practices, and network with colleagues in the field.

They were also able to see the Trevi fountain and get some world-famous gelato!
