Washington, DC

In June of 2024, ISOW had the opportunity to attend the Global Task Force on Third Country Education Pathways Community of Practice meetings in Washington, D.C. These focused on launching and scaling complementary education pathways and on sharing comparative approaches and lessons learned from the Americas, including the recent launch of Welcome Corps on Campus in the U.S. This event brought together institutions and stakeholders involved in building or expanding education pathways programs, highlighting seasoned initiatives in the Americas.

ISOW's participation highlighted its dedication to enhancing educational opportunities for displaced students and fostering global collaboration. Through active engagement in discussions and workshops, ISOW gained valuable insights into innovative strategies and best practices for supporting refugee education. These insights, with their potential to influence global refugee education, were a testament to the collective impact of the international community. We learned and talked about successful program implementation, effective policy advocacy, and the importance of community involvement in creating sustainable education pathways. This learning will be instrumental in refining ISOW's initiatives and expanding their impact, ensuring that more refugee students have access to the education they deserve.
